One of the largest city parks in the United States, Griffith Park offers a welcome escape from L.A. traffic. To go there, you can use the redline metro, get off at Vermont / Sunset, then exit the sunset door. From there, you still have to take the LA Dept Of Transport (LADOT) bus which unfortunately only operates on weekends.
