The Pacific Design Center facility is in West Hollywood. The museum exhibition consists mainly of American and European contemporary art created after 1940. Since the beginning of the museum, MOCA programming has been determined by a multi-disciplinary approach to contemporary art.
FREE on Saturdays and maybe all the time until March, check the website. Outstanding parking right in front. The building itself is an updated police garage! We enjoyed our visit because we were lucky and joined a very knowledgeable tour guide. Do the same thing - - You will appreciate this art MUCH more when you have what ideas you see and stories of artists! We visited The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA, North Central Avenue, Los Angeles, CA, USA, which is a branch of MOCA. They have a collection of two artists Zoe Leonard and Laura Owens.
I found that the collection was very impressive. While Zoe's collection (especially photography) is quite simple in their expressions, it conveys a deep feeling of concern for the oppressed and the poor. I was touched by the "my President" memo. In contrast, Laura Owen's collection is quite expressive, courageous and brave. He has shown courage and rebellion on canvas and all his work is very good. It was clear that he had a lot of fun while working and that was very clear in all his work. The museum itself will take around 3 hours, if you are a serious art lover.
We go on Christmas Eve and we can't get to another MOCA branch in the city center because it closes at 3:00 a.m. This facility is quite good with polite staff. Some gallery officers are quite knowledgeable, where I can involve them in productive / stimulating intellectual conversions.
